On May 20 at 2 pm, Juan Rey, who is running in California’s June 5th election primary for Congress in the Northeast San Fernando Valley, will be speaking in North Hollywood about the multiple crises that working people face, and the need for workers to organize and unite into an independent working class party. A discussion will follow.
On the afternoon of Sunday, April 22, about two dozen supporters of Juan Rey’s campaign for Congress attended a fund raiser at a supporter’s home in Los Angeles.
Juan Rey is running as an independent for U.S. Congress (California 29th District) in the June 5th primary election in the San Fernando Valley.
Last fall we campaigned on this idea: that the working class needed its own party. We said that the working class in this country has been suffering through an economic crisis that has gone for over 30 years, under the watch of both the Democrats and the Republicans. We said that the two main political parties both spoke for the capitalists and that the working class needed its own voice.
2017 is not an election year in Michigan on the state level. But that doesn't mean that there is nothing that can be done. Maybe we can't campaign for candidates. But we can campaign for the idea that working people need our own party.
