TO REFUSE CAPITALISM’S CRISES AND WARS
We are caught in the grip of a worn-out capitalist economic system, whose basic aim is to accumulate profit for the corporations and banks.
- Capitalism’s drive for profit has lowered our standard of living – eliminating decent paying jobs for each new generation, and for our kids and our grandkids.
- Its drive for profit has led to financial speculation – and to price inflation for all the things we need in our daily lives.
We are caught in the grip of capitalism’s political system, whose final answer to every crisis is war.
- The U.S. has been paying for and indirectly involved in the wars in Ukraine, Gaza, Sudan and Yemen – under both parties. It is carrying out its own war against Iran. It has “shadow wars” going on in Venezuela, throughout the Middle East and against Mexico.
- If these madmen are not stopped, they will drag the whole world into a never-ending, ever-expanding war tomorrow. And us with it.
We should refuse to sacrifice our standard of living on the altar of profit.
- The capitalists have hoarded vast amounts of wealth they stole from our labor. We need to organize to take it back.
- Let us divide the available work among everyone who wants to work – with a decent wage for everyone. Let us slow down the pace of work.
- Let us fight to impose automatic and immediate increases on our wages, pensions and disability payments whenever prices increase.
We should refuse to let schools and public services be cheated for money.
- That’s where Democrats and Republicans get their money for war.
- But it’s not just a question of money. The problem is war itself – and what it does to people all over the world.
- New generations will be sent to fight against workers from other countries.
- We will be pitted against each other inside our own countries.
We should refuse to let our enemies divide us.
- Our only enemy is the capitalist class. Our real friends are other workers. And that includes workers from every country.
- We are all part of one class, black, white, native-born, immigrant, women, men – all nationalities. We have the power to block the move to war – when we stand together.
The working class can do more than this. We can emancipate humanity.
- The working class today sits in the very heart of the economy. We produce the food, goods and services society needs; we transport them; we see they get distributed. We work in the center of financial services. When we mobilize our forces together, we can control the economy – and run it to serve all of humanity.
We won’t change our situation with an election. But, with this election, we can speak. By voting for Working Class Party, we can show that hundreds of thousands of working people are fed up with capitalist society. We want a society that serves everyone.
